DAY 1 CUSCO – KM 104 – WIÑAY WAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – AGUAS CALIENTES

It begins with the pick up from the hotel to transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo for 1:30 hrs. approximately during the trip, you will be able to see the Sacred Valley of the Incas, farmland, majestic snow. crowned mountains; Ollantaytambo and board the train that will take you to km. 104 the trip is approximately 1 hour. In the place (2,200 masl / 7,217 feet) we will begin the walk, we will cross the bridge that is over the Urubamba or Willkamayuc river. Upon arrival at the control point, you must show identification documents or Passport. A 2-minute walk away is the first archaeological center Chachabamba that is hidden in the semi-tropical forest, after this visit, we will begin the walk through booths ascending to the next place, on the way we will observe the Sacred Valley, waterfalls and different types of orchids, semi-tropical forest, after 3 hours of walking we will arrive at Wiñaywayna (2,650 masl / 8,694 ft.) that shows a perfect example of what agriculture was at the time of the Incas, since along its slopes lie a large number of agricultural terraces, where the Incas cultivated different agricultural crops. In this second part of the tour we will walk for 2 hours through an Andean plan, stone stairs and tambos (“resting places”) until we reach Inti Punku – Puerta del Sol (2,720 m / 8,923 ft) that during The Incas functioned as an entrance control to the Citadel of Machu Picchu ; From here you have an impressive panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the entire surrounding valley, then descend for approximately 30 minutes to the world wonder of Machu Picchu (2490 m / 8169 ft).

Finally you take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes (2160 m / 7,086 ft) the bus takes 20 minutes, here we will spend the night in a very nice hotel, we will also have dinner in one of the good restaurants in this town. Night at the hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes.

DAY 2 TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

This day will be the most remembered as we will visit Machu Picchu. Our guide will be waiting for you very early at your hotel to take you to the bus station, the route to the citadel lasts approximately 30 minutes, to arrive at the Citadel of Machu Picchu at 06:30 am and be able to appreciate the majestic sunrise. We will have a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes to see the most important places in Machu Picchu, you will be able to visit the most amazing places such as the Royal Mausoleum, the Temple of the 3 Windows, the Main Temple, the Sacred Plaza, the famous Intihuatana where Inca sages tied the sun to the winter solstice in June, steps, squares, fountains, etc. After the tour you will have free time to visit Machu Picchu on your own.

At the appropriate time we will board the bus from Machu Picchu to the town of “Aguas Calientes” to board the train back to Cusco, the next arrival time in Cusco will be 08:00 PM, the tour ends with the transfer to their respective hotels.
